The City of Baxter Seeks Proposals for Purchase and Development of City Property

The City of Baxter invites prospective developers to submit proposals for the acquisition and development of 3.39 acres of City-owned property at 407 S. East Ave., Baxter, Iowa 50028. The real estate was the former Baxter Healthcare Center. Asbestos remediation on the site has been performed and completed.

Submitted proposals should provide a business plan that includes purchase of the property, demolition of the building, removal of the parking lot, and development of the property for commercial, multi-residential or residential use. The City Council is open to review a variety of proposals, but all must include proper demolition and disposal of the building and parking lot, as well as a time frame for the demolition and proposed development. Proposals should also include details concerning the developer’s experience with similar projects and photos of previous projects.

All proposals must be received in the Baxter City Clerk's office at Baxter City Hall, 203 S Main Street, P.O. Box 415, Baxter, IA 50028 by noon on October 31, 2022. The City Council will review the submitted proposals at their City Council meeting on November 14, 2022.
