Colfax receives State funds for Quarry Springs Park

The City of Colfax has been awarded a $400,000 Destination Iowa grant for improvements to Quarry Springs Park, located off Interstate 80. The $100 million Destination Iowa program invests in transformational attractions that will bolster the quality of life in Iowa communities, enhance tourism and attract new residents.

The funding for the “Relax in Colfax” project will assist with the creation of a new 30-site RV campground, a modern shower house and bathrooms, and an ADA-accessible dock in Quarry Springs Park. The projected completion date for the project is June 2023.

The 480-acre park, with a 240-acre spring fed lake, currently offers hiking trails, kayaking, bird watching, tent camping, and fishing. Visit the Quarry Springs Park website for more information about park events and activities.
