At its October 28 meeting, the Jasper County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to provide another $25,000 to operate JEDCO's Small Grant Program for another year.

The Small Grants Program supports projects that increase a community’s property tax base and/or create jobs. JEDCO member communities can apply for up to $10,000 for eligible projects with a local community match requirement of 25%.

In 2025, the Program provided a grant of just over $9,000 for a $12,000 project that enabled Mingo’s Station Street Bicycle Shop to add grocery and convenience items to its store. The City of Sully was awarded a $10,000 grant to support its $23,500 cost to develop a new Comprehensive Plan. The City of Baxter also received a $10,000 grant to support their $23,333 Comprehensive Plan project. Another $10,000 grant was awarded to Colfax for the $39,350 internal office build-out of the Gard Building on North Walnut Street.
