The Ames Community Arts Council and the Octagon Center for the Arts have opened registration for the Business of Art Conference scheduled for March 7-8 at Reiman Gardens in Ames.

This conference is designed to strengthen skills and resources in both formally trained and self-taught creatives. Conference topics this year include taking your artistic practice from hobby to business, developing a daily creative practice, selling your work, and so much more. In addition to professional development sessions, the conference will include networking opportunities throughout the day, giving participants a chance to talk one-on-one with the speakers, other professionals, and each other. Professionals and students in all types of creative work, part-time or full-time, in all stages of their careers, are welcome.

Chris Vance, a professional artist whose work is rooted in a blend of cartoons, music, graffiti, and skateboard culture, will headline the event.

Registration for the two-day conference is $100 for professionals and $50 for students.

Full conference details and registration information can be found online at the Conference website
