The City of Monroe Seeks Proposals for Acquisition and Development of Two Properties

The City of Monroe is asking for proposals from developers who wish to acquire the real estate at 702 N. Main Street for new construction of multi-residential housing.

The property will be sold as is. The proposed project must be completed within 18 months and have a minimum assessed value of $75,000.00. Proposals should include information about the proposed use of the acquired property, the schedule for completion of the construction, the developer’s experience in construction and development, and the amount the developer is offering for the lot. The minimum price for the property is $7,500.00. The property will be subject to a development agreement and minimum assessment agreement.

The City would also like to see proposals from developers interested in purchasing the real estate at 108 W. Sherman Street for new construction or rehabilitation of this commercial property.

This commercial property will be sold as is. The project must be completed within 18 months and have a minimum assessed value of $75,000.00. Proposals should include information about the proposed use of the acquired property, the schedule for completion of the construction, the developer’s experience in construction and development, and the amount the developer is offering for the lot. The offered amount must be at least $20,000.00.

Interested parties must submit their proposals to City Hall on or before January 9, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. The City may choose to reject any and all proposals. More information about the RFPs is available on the City of Monroe's website.
