Colfax Main Street Celebrates a Successful Year

The Colfax Main Street's Annual Report, released the last week of December, celebrates a year of 'normal' programming after the pandemic's interruptions in 2020 and 2021. Some of the successes mentioned in the report include:
- The City of Colfax won the Best Building Rehabilitation Award for Communities under 5,000 Population at the Main Street Iowa Development Awards for renovating the City of Colfax Offices.
- Nine new businesses started in downtown Colfax in 2022.
- Eight new housing units are being built near downtown Colfax; one upper story apartment is currently being renovated.
- Downtown Colfax is an attractive location for area food trucks. Food trucks visited the community around fifty times in 2022.
- Main Street volunteers were busy in 2022, hosting four large community events. One of which brought over 1,000 visitors to downtown Colfax.
