Higher Education

Jasper County is home to a highly skilled and educated workforce, in part, because of our regional education opportunities. Locally, we have several campuses of higher learning where students can advance their college education or receive a certification in areas like human services and welding. 

For example, students can earn an Associate Degree at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) and then transfer their credits to Buena Vista University in Newton, where students can earn their four year degree in criminal justice, organizational leadership, accounting, business, human services, and a variety of other concentrations. 

Our adjacency to Des Moines and proximity to Ames, Grinnell, and Pella ensure that residents can access a range of options for higher learning within our region.
