Prairie Meadows 2026 Grant Applications are Open

Prairie Meadows is now accepting grant applications for its 2026 Legacy Grant, Community Betterment Grant, and Youth Sports and Recreational Grant programs. The application deadline for these three grant programs is 5 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026.

Through its three grant programs, Prairie Meadows supports Iowa nonprofit organizations that support arts and culture, education, economic development, and human services. Organizations should apply to the grant program that best aligns with their focus area.

Prairie Meadows Legacy Grant awards provide funding in the following categories: arts and culture, economic development, education, and health and human services. The Legacy Grant program is designated for large-scale, signature projects and provides funding from $100,000 to $1 million. 

Prairie Meadows Community Betterment Grants fund small-to-medium-sized projects with grants ranging from $100 to $99,999. These grants support qualified arts and culture, economic development, education, and health and human service organizations seeking to improve the lives of those in their communities. 

Prairie Meadows Youth Sports and Recreational Grant Program supports qualified youth sports organizations with grants that range from $1,000 to $50,000.

Past Jasper County Prairie Meadow grant recipients include the Colfax Economic Development Corporation for the Colfax Childcare Center, the Baxter Volunteer Firefighters Association, the City of Colfax, Colfax Fire Department, the Colfax Mingo Community School District, Colfax-Minto Youth Sports Organization, Mingo Fire Department, Monroe Senior and Community Center, Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, the City of Newton, Newton Community School District, Newton Fire Department, Newton Area Soccer Association, PCM Community School District, Sully Rural Fire and Ambulance Service, and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
