The Central Iowa Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Expo is Scheduled for October

The Central Iowa Building & Construction Trades Council and Central Iowa Apprenticeship Council will host the annual Central Iowa Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Expo on Wednesday, October 16 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday, October 17, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 33 Training Center in Des Moines. 

Regional high school students, particularly those interested in the skilled trades, are invited to attend. Teachers, principals, and guidance counselors are welcome to bring student groups. The two-day event will feature over 20 interactive, hands-on demonstrations by local skilled trades registered apprenticeship programs as well as opportunities to meet with instructors to learn more about each individual apprenticeship program. The event is free to attend, but online registration is required. Lunch will be provided. 

The Expo does have set times for sessions; attendees are welcome to arrive any time during the Expo’s hours, but will be asked to estimate their arrival time on the registration form. Attendees should plan on spending between 1.5 to 2.5 hours at the Expo.
