The Newton Community School District serves approximately 3,000 students at seven student attendance centers throughout Newton. The district's 450 employees work to empower every student to achieve a lifetime of personal success.
In addition to providing high-quality academic courses, extracurricular activities are an integral part of the school program at Newton High School. The district is a member of the 8-school Little Hawkeye Conference (LHC). Newton is classified as a 4A school category for the State of Iowa and is affiliated with the Iowa Girls' High School Athletic Union and the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
