About

Jasper County’s strategic location near Des Moines and Iowa City, gives businesses and residents the opportunity to enjoy living in a small town or rural environment, while being close enough to the city to enjoy work, business, and leisure opportunities.

location mapJasper County is located on Interstate 80 and just half an hour east of Interstate 35. We offer a variety of sites, some with direct interstate frontage, some with rail service, and all within twenty minutes of Newton's all-weather, ILS-equipped general aviation airport, and 40 minutes to commercial passenger and freight air service in Des Moines. The county has an abundance of land where families and businesses can spread out. With 733 square miles and a population around 40,000 people, there is plenty of room for everyone.

In addition to Interstate 80 running through the center of the county, the county’s strong network of state highways, and access to rail and air transportation options provide easy and varied transportation access.

Jasper County has a strong and highly skilled workforce, in part, due to the education offered within the county. Beginning in high school students can earn college credit or a specialization certificate and begin training for a future career. Without ever leaving the county, workers can become certified in areas like welding or receive their nursing degree. Plus, our workforce is made up of highly capable self starters—the type of people that add value to any organization.
