Whether you are interested in the arts, entertainment, or culture, you are sure to find fun events and activities for yourself, your family, and your friends in Jasper County. Throughout the summer, we have festivals and events almost every week. People come from outside the area to enjoy great food, live music, fun, and games.

Throughout the year, you can taste the world-famous blue cheese made from scratch at the Maytag Dairy Farms in Newton. Afterward, head south just a few minutes to the Jasper County Historical Museum where its mission is “collecting, preserving, and exhibiting our agricultural, commercial, industrial, and societal history.”

For indoor entertainment, join an adult and youth bowling leagues at Cardinal Lanes or choose from a wide variety of classes at the Centre for Arts and Artists, including fluid art, kinder clay, and wine and canvas. Finally, you won’t want to miss the excitement at the Iowa Speedway, featuring the Gander Outdoor Truck Series and the NTT Indycar Series. Or you want to see “The Original Operating Toy Train Museum” called Trainland U.S.A., which is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Finally, after enjoying all of what Jasper County has to offer, sip your way through an afternoon at a private wine tasting at the Van Wijk Winery.
