Clay Class

Ages 12  and up. 

This is an introductory class to give you the skills to throw simple forms on the wheel that will be beautiful and usable. The class will focus on cylinders that can be turned into mugs or other objects. If you can already throw, you are free to make other forms.

After making your pots, they must dry for several days and they will be fired in the kiln for the first time. After firing, you return to glaze your pots. Following glazing, the pots will be fired again to lock the color in place and provide the shine and toughness of stoneware. After the final firing, your pottery will be ready for pickup.

A $10 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot. The class fee is $50 per person and is payable by check or cash when you come to class. The class fee includes all supplies, 2 firings, and instruction.
