Ages 12 and up.
This is an introductory class to give you the skills to throw simple forms on the wheel that will be beautiful and usable. The class will focus on cylinders that can be turned into mugs or other objects. If you can already throw, you are free to make other forms.
All the steps required for your pottery are included: instruction, clay, trimming, glaze, 2 firings.
After making your pots, they must dry for several days and they will be fired in the kiln for the first time. After firing, you return to glaze your pots. Following glazing, the pots will be fired again to lock the color in place and provide the shine and toughness of stoneware. After the final firing, your pottery will be ready for pickup.
The class price is $50 per person, including a $10 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot. Please bring cash/check to pay the class fee.
